About Lachlan Defrancesco

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Lachlan Defrancesco began karting at the tender age of seven shortly after his family moved to Florida, USA. Following in the footsteps of his older brother Devlin, Lachlan quickly found himself up to speed in a go-kart, spending countless hours on track in the state of Florida while competing in North America’s largest events with the DFR Racing Team.

After a few very busy seasons Lachlan decided to take a break in 2013, sitting out a majority of the season. When opportunity arose for Lachlan to work with long time friends and mentors Nick Mitchell and Ben Cruttenden on their new chassis, the BENIK Kart, Lachlan jumped back into the race seat at the end of 2013 for the chassis’ debut at the SKUSA SuperNationals in Las Vegas.

Since his return Lachlan has been a force to be reckoned with in the Mini categories. Consistently on the podium throughout North America in 2014, Lachlan closed out his time in the Mini categories with a spectacular season in 2015, earning three National titles with BENIK Kart. First up was the US Pro Kart Series where he was the champion in the Vortex Mini ROK category. He followed that up with another Mini ROK title, this time in the ROK Cup USA Championship, earning a trip to the ROK Cup International Finals in Italy. Finally, in his final race of the season in Las Vegas, Lachlan confirmed his position as champion in the SKUSA Pro Tour, claiming the IAME TaG Cadet Championship, highlighted by a victory at the SKUSA SummerNationals in Indiana.

2016 will see Lachlan move up to the Junior division with his focus on the Florida Winter Tour, SKUSA Pro Tour, ROK Cup USA and US Pro Kart Series.
