TEAM BENIK & LACHLAN DEFRANCESCO ADD ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE TO THEIR RESUME

With only a few events left on the 2015 karting calendar, Team BENIK looks to keep the momentum rolling as they continue their winning ways. Competing in both the ROK Cup USA and United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) programs, BENIK drivers once again secured race wins and podium results against some tough and talented competition.

Traveling to the 103rd Street Motorsports Complex in Jacksonville, Florida for the next event in the growing ROK Cup USA program, BENIK drivers would flex their muscles in both the Micro and Mini ROK classes. Showing their speed, Team BENIK drivers Lachlan DeFrancesco, Reece Gold, Tyler Maxson and Derek Carmenate would claim the top four positions in the Vortex Mini ROK main event. Dominating the class, Reece Gold would claim the pole position earlier in the weekend as BENIK drivers won all three heat races and the prefinal. DeFrancesco would emerge as the victor when weather changed taking his BENIK chassis to the front of the field in wet weather competition, showing that the BENIK brand performs well in every condition.

Vortex Micro ROK and BENIK driver James Egozi would have a dominating victory in Jacksonville as he claimed three heat race triumphs, the prefinal win and stellar main event victory.

“The ROK program has been good to us in 2015,” expressed BENIK Kart Co-Founder Nick Mitchell. “We have won at both the regional and national level and look to continue that as we move forward into 2016.”

Heading north to the New Castle Motorsports Park facility, just outside of Indianapolis, Indiana, Team BENIK would compete in the fourth and final round of the national series. With a handful of drivers competing in both the Yamaha Cadet and Vortex Mini ROK classes, wins and podiums have been plentiful on the season and it was no different in the Hoosier State.

In Saturday’s wheel-to-wheel competition, Lachlan DeFrancesco would claim the checkers in the Yamaha main event with Reece Gold putting two BENIK karts on the podium as he would finish third. Advancing two positions in the ROK class, Gold would take the victory for his first career USPKS win.

During Sunday’s action, DeFrancesco would add another podium result to his growing resume as he led every lap in the main event except for the last one as he crossed the line in the second position. Tyler Maxson would start the main event in 13th and drive to the top three before eventually ending his main event in P4.

James Egozi continued to improve and build upon his success in the Vortex Mini ROK class, as he was able to secure the third step on the podium during Sunday’s racing festivities.

With the results on the weekend, Team BENIK secured the championship in the Vortex Mini ROK class and Vice Championship honors in the Yamaha Cadet division.
